On kicking off my book tour!

Feb 19

So today marks day 1 of Terra’s book blog tour — something that I have been anticipating like crazy for the past month! I had the good fortune to meet Laurynne from Coffee, Books, and Lipgloss through the magical world of Goodreads, and she told me about her new book tour service: CBL Book Tours. She very generously offered to throw together a digital book tour, and here we are!

The blog tour spans over the course of the next couple of days, with book bloggers from across the interwebs (and the globe!) weighing in with their thoughts on Terra. Some also chose simply to promote the book without a review. If you’re interested in following the blog tour, the participating blogs are listed below!

I’m obviously very excited to see what comes from this promotional effort in terms of sales and exposure, but I can already say that working with Laurynne and CBL Tours has been a dream. All I had to provide was some information about the book, myself, and, of course, the digital copies to be distributed to bloggers, and she has taken care of everything else! Also, I’m doing another giveaway! Huzzaaaahh! Use the Rafflecopter form below to enter for a chance to win a signed paperback or a digital copy in your format of choice.

  1. I would LOVE to read this book! YA lit is my favorite!

  2. OH MAN is this an exciting week to be a Terra fangirl. Can’t wait to see all the buzz!

Relevant: there was a “literary styles” category on the Jeopardy tournament of champions last night, and “dystopian” was one of the answers. Good omen.

P.S. Apparently I’m automatically signed into Rafflecopter, and there’s a little box on that giveaway callout that says “HI, AILEEN,” which initially scared the crap out of me. THEY KNOW WHO I AM. THEY KNOW WHERE I AM. ROBOT APOCALYPSE.

  3. Just purchased book a few days ago! Can’t wait to read it.

  4. Your book is amazing! I just finished writing my tour post and it will be up shortly. I can’t wait to read the second book! I’m excited to know what they’ll do. By the way, I love Adam! lol

    • Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to read your review. And I know, isn’t he wonderful? I kind of love him too. Is that weird, since I’m the one writing him? Hahahaha. 🙂

      • Lol, it’s not weird, you could have written him differently and not like him as well. Like Ryk, I didn’t like him at all!

I have a question, I joined the Where are you reading challenge and I don’t know exactly where they are, I tend to overlook names but I went back and couldn’t find it. I figured that maybe the states were divided North, West but they went from the north to the west in the bike so it has to be a smaller place. Did you think of a specific state when writing Genesis X-16 or it’s not how things are in our world right now?

        • Yeah! Great questions. Things are definitely not the same as how our world is anymore. Because the population has decreased so much, as well as the fact that there are these huge cities in the sky, the settlements on the ground are reeeeally spread out. Each settlement, like Genesis X-16, is split up into quadrants–Terra and Mica live in the West quadrant, the gate in and out of Sixteen is at the north end, etc, but there is just like vast amounts of empty (dead) land outside each settlement. I always envisioned Sixteen as being on the eastern seaboard of the United States (I mention there being docks in the Eastern Quadrant, so it’d be like a seaside town) but this is set so far in the future, so the outline of the US as we know it is probably really different! The “eastern seaboard” might have flooded, and Sixteen could be much further inland.

Sorry for the superlong answer, I just get excited talking about this stuff, hehe. Does that answer your question at least somewhat?

    • Thank you so much for answering! It’s ok, I talk a lot when I get excited lol. Yeah, it’s sort of what I thought was a possibility, that earth is not how it is right now. At first I thought it was the whole country, Genesis X-16 but then I thought we couldn’t go through all states that fast
My post is up if you want to check it out
